九识

(九識, 九识)

The kinds of cognition or consciousness ((sa) vijñāna); those of sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, mind, (sa) mānas (or[lang id =1028]阿陁那識 (sa) ādāna), i.e. mental perception; [lang id =1028]阿賴耶 ālāya, bodhi-consciousness, and [lang id =1028]阿摩羅識 (sa) amala, purified or Buddha-consciousness. There is considerable difference as to the meaning of the last three.
